Get to Grips with the Basics of Far Cry Primal

By Lexley Ford,
Ubisoft's upcoming Far Cry Primal will be taking players back to the Stone Age later this month where the Udam, a tribe of cannibals, stands in the way of you restoring the Wenja tribe to its former glory. The cannibalistic Udam aren’t the only human threats that we will face in Far Cry Primal; The Izila, also known as the Sun Walkers are a technologically advanced and matriarchal tribe that is loosely based on the ancient Mesopotamians. However unlike their brutal counterparts, they are both ambitious and cruel, kidnapping members of other tribes to use as slaves and burning their victims alive.

Surviving in Far Cry Primal's savage land of Oros is going to require more than determination, needing the ability to learn and adapt to the wilds. Thankfully, Takkar has a rather large arsenal of Stone Age weaponry. His animal companions, like the wolf, can be used to take down startled prey, while the owl can be used to scout the area ahead and mark targets. The following trailer goes into detail on the many options that players will have at their disposal when trying to survive.

Finally, we have 10 minutes of gameplay thanks to Playstation Underground, which highlights many of the gameplay features shown above.

Far Cry Primal will release on the Xbox One on February 23rd.
