Ghost Town Games Reveals Overcooked

By Ashley Woodcock,
Overcooked looks to offer a very different approach on working together with other players. Rather than reviving your comrades on the battlefield or working together through a dungeon to slay dragons, developer Ghost Town Games will be serving up some kitchen-style co-op. Players will need to work with other chefs to prepare, cook and serve up a variety of meals to waiting customers. In the journey across the Onion Kingdom, players will be run ragged in the different style of kitchens that will truly test your co-op skills and co-ordination.

Here are some of the key features from Overcooked:

Key Features:
- An epic co-operative drop-in/drop-out campaign which sees you travelling across the Onion Kingdom, cooking food in increasingly bizarre locations
- Unlockable competitive kitchens which allows players to go head-to-head against each other
- A host of unlockable playable characters to discover
- Share-a-pad: 2 players can share one gamepad to play the game together (4 player gaming on only 2 controllers!
Four new screens showcase a kitchen on a boat as well as two halves of a kitchen on two separate trucks! There's also an earthquake taking place in the third screen, and we get tom meet some of the characters in the final one:

Here's the announcement trailer for the game that offers a short preview of the gameplay:

The second video showcases much more of the gameplay as four members of Double Fine get hands on with the game. Check out the video that runs for just under 14 minutes as we learn how the game works, how to cook, and how to feed some of the monsters with the monstrous appetites:

Overcooked will fire up on the Xbox One early this year.

We've got the full list of Overcooked achievements - check the list for guides to unlocking them.
